Custom process

Five steps, and you approve each one.

Every KESI carpet is made to order. Here is what happens between your first email and the day the carpet is down — and where your money goes at each stage.

01 · Brief

You send the plan or room sizes, the area type, colour references (fabric, stone, paint), any design you have, and your target date. If you need certificates for approval, tell us now.

02 · Design & colour

Our studio prepares the design drawing. Our dye house matches yarn to your references and sends you yarn colour samples (poms) to approve.

03 · Strike-off

We tuft a physical sample of the design and colours. Nothing goes into production until you sign it off. The signed strike-off is the standard the finished carpet is checked against.

04 · Production

The carpet is tufted by hand on a frame, latexed, sheared, carved and finished in our factory, then checked for size, pile and colour against the approved strike-off.

05 · Delivery & installation

Packed and labelled by area, shipped to you, with installation and care guides. Your quote states the delivery terms and the schedule.

Lead time depends on size, detail and quantity. Your quote gives the strike-off and production schedule in writing.

Colour matching

Send us the thing you want to match.

A marble offcut, a curtain fabric, a paint chip, a photo is not enough — we need the real object. Our dye house mixes the colour for your project rather than picking the nearest shade from a card.

Each dye batch is checked against your approved yarn sample before tufting.

Payment

You pay in stages. Each payment follows something you've approved.

Strike-off

If a sample fee applies, it is stated in your quote. Before you pay anything else, you hold a physical sample of your carpet.

Deposit

Paid after you have signed off the strike-off. This is when we start dyeing and tufting your order.

Balance

Paid before shipment, once the finished carpet has passed our final check against your strike-off. We can send photos and measurements first.

Who you pay

Bank transfer to the company account of Jining Seven Star Carpet Co., Ltd. — the same company named on our contracts and certificates. We never ask you to pay a personal account.

The exact terms

Deposit percentage, payment method for large projects, delivery terms (FOB, CIF and others) and currency are set out in your quote and contract.

Changes & cancellation

You can change the design and colours freely until you sign off the strike-off. Once production starts, the carpet is made only for you and can't be returned.

Aftercare

If something is wrong, you tell us, and we put it right.

Factory faults

If a fault comes from our manufacturing — loose tufts, backing problems, colour outside the agreed tolerance — we repair or remake it at our cost, on the terms and time limits written in your contract. Normal wear and misuse are not covered.

On arrival

Check the carpet when it arrives and send us photos of any problem within the period stated in your contract. Your contact handles it from first email to resolution.

Years later

We keep your design and dye recipes on file, so you can order a matching piece or replacement later. For large projects, ask us to include spare carpet with your order.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask us

Design & colour

Can you make my own design?

Yes. Size, shape, colours, pile height and pattern are all made to your design. Send us a drawing, CAD file or image.

I don't have a design. Can you help?

Yes. Our designers draw options from your floor plan, interior and references — Islamic geometry, palace florals, modern abstracts and more.

Can you match a colour to my fabric or marble?

Yes. Send us the physical sample. Our dye house matches yarn to it and sends you colour samples to approve.

Which yarn should I choose?

For heavy traffic: New Zealand wool or nylon. For sheen: silk, bamboo silk or Tencel, often blended with wool. See our yarn guide for the strengths and weak points of each.

Cut pile, loop pile or both?

Cut pile is soft and even (7 to 70 mm). Loop pile is the most hard-wearing (5 to 14 mm), good for corridors. Combining both gives texture and relief.

Samples, sizes & timing

Do I see a sample before production?

Yes. You approve yarn colours, then a tufted strike-off sample. Production starts only after you sign it off.

How long does it take?

It depends on the area, the detail of the design and the number of pieces. Your quote states the strike-off and production schedule in writing — tell us your opening or handover date at the start.

Is there a minimum order?

No fixed minimum. We make single rugs as well as large projects.

Will the size be exact?

Hand-tufted carpet can vary by 1–2% in size, which is the industry norm. Rugs have finished edges. Wall-to-wall carpet is made with extra margin and open edges so it is trimmed to fit on site.

Can you make round or irregular shapes?

Yes — round, oval and shaped carpets, and runners for curved staircases.

Certificates & compliance

Is the carpet fire-tested?

For the US, yes: our SGS report (2026) shows a pass under 16 CFR 1630 (FF 1-70). We do not yet hold European reports — for projects in Europe we test your construction to EN 13501-1 and, for wall-to-wall carpet, EN 14041 (CE) at an accredited European lab before production. See what we hold in each region.

Is it low-emission?

Our wool broadloom carpet with natural rubber backing holds CRI Green Label Plus certification. Our factory is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Can you supply carpets for yachts or aircraft?

We don't currently hold IMO or aviation certification. For marine projects we can arrange testing of your specification to IMO requirements; timing and cost are quoted separately.

Payment, delivery & aftercare

How do I pay?

In stages by bank transfer to our company account: strike-off, deposit after approval, balance before shipment. See how payment works.

Do you ship to my country?

Yes. We ship internationally; delivery terms are agreed in your quote.

Who installs the carpet?

Usually your local installer, using our installation guide and layout drawings. Rugs simply need unrolling.

Can I keep my project confidential?

Yes. We'll sign a confidentiality agreement and won't publish your project.

Who will I be dealing with?

One contact handles your project from first enquiry to delivery. Write to partnership@kesicarpets.com or use the project form.
